Kaikoura Pics -- Day One

So many fun pics of the dolphins, and the mountains, and the Pacific Ocean, it's just easier to do a separate post.  If any of Maddy's Go Pro pics in the water turn out, I will add some of them to the blog so you can see how close up we were whilst swimming with the dolphins.

Kaikoura -- Pacific Ocean meets 9,000
foot snow-capped mountains.

Dusky dolphins are gray under water,
and black out of the water.

There were probably 80-100 in the pod we
were swimming with and later photographing.

Giant Petrel

Albatross and dolphins

Show-offs!

Just came out from under the boat.

Walkin' on water

Double shot.

He flipped for us!

At Rincon, they're walking the nose!
(I know it's not Rincon --google the lyrics!)

Our trusty boat

And thus they leave us.

Our friend at the cottage.

Quinessential New Zealand. . .sheep,
Pacific Ocean, snow-capped mountains.

Beach tractor.

New Zealanders care a lot more than
Americans about the rugby World Cup.

No such thing as too many pictures of
ocean/snow-capped mountains.

Maddy made up the steep hill
much faster than I did.
