We're sitting in the Christchurch Airport, waiting for our flight to board for Sydney. Five days in Australia just to cap off the trip. Last night, we ended up having dinner at the airport hotel, which wasn't anything special, but it was fine -- especially since we were getting up at 4 am to hustle to the airport. Getting through baggage and security and customs took all of 15 minutes. . .so we had time to kill.
Anyhow, here's the New Zealand trip favs from the poll I took at dinner last night:
Favorite Three Activities
Maddy: Dolphins, ATV, and Milford Sound
Carol: Dolphins, Milford Sound, Shotover Jet Boat
Glen: Dolphins, ATV, Shotover Jet Boat
(It's a great vacation when Glacier Hiking doesn't even make anyone's top three, even though it was fabulous).
Favorite Two Restaurants
Maddy: Why Not?, Spice Paragon
Carol: Vknow, Why Not?
Glen: Pedro's House of Lamb, Vknow
Why Not? was the great little cafe in Kaikoura where we went to breakfast twice and lunch once. Brekkie was amazing there. Vknow is where Carol and I went the first night in NZ -- the night before Maddy came into town. Spice Paragon was the funky place in Christchurch. And Pedro's House of Lamb? By now it should need no more elaboration!
