Impressive

Bison

Pronghorn Antelope (2nd fastest animal in the world)

Elk

Marmots (they are cool!)

White Pelicans (didn't realize there are in-land pelicans)

Yellow Tanager
River Otter (on the Snake River, natch!)
Peregrine Falcon (in both Idaho and Montana)

Pretty good

Bald eagles (okay, I know -- they should be impressive, but I see them all the time while I'm kayaking or driving along the Potomac River).  Although the sheer number we saw along the Snake was impressive.

Osprey (ditto)

Less Impressive

Deer

Chipmunks (tons of them and they are not very scared of humans -- Maddy even touched the tail of one on the hike down from Inspiration Point yesterday)

No bears to date, although that may change this weekend in Yellowstone.
