Touring With Torie

Carol had wisely bought tickets on-line for both the Alcazar and the Cathedral/Giralda on-line.  The line for tickets for each was crazy long and slow.  It also made you wonder why they did not just purchase advance tickets while they were waiting in line – it would have saved them a bunch of time.  Smart phones do not automatically mean smart people.

Torie took us all around the huge Alcazar and gardens.  She had a tour of it shortly after getting to Seville, so she knew where to take us for great views, and also tell us some of the important historical points there.

After her tour (Maddy and Carol joked that she need to start a Tour company – “Touring with Torie”) we grabbed lunch again at yet another tapas place near our apartment.

Then, we headed off to the Cathedral and Giralda.  While not as impressive as the Mezquita in Cordoba, the Cathedral is still impressive.  And then we also climbed up the Giralda tower, which consists of 39 ramps and 17 steps.  That afforded excellent views all around Seville.

Afterwards we walked around some more, although we did not see any processions.  We did see many individuals in their hoods/robes walking to get to their procession group.
