Fireworks From Our Window

Well, I jumped ahead of myself.  Having blogged about Monday, I forgot about the Sunday night fireworks.

One of my favorite activities each year is watching the fireworks at Wintergreen on the Fourth of July.  We sit on our deck, and the fireworks happen right in front of us.  Some years they even shoot them off at New Year's.

Sunday was the end of the Barceloneta festival, which we did not participate in at all.  We had plenty to do, and had already enjoyed some events at the citywide La Merce.  There were to be fireworks at the beach to close out the Barceloneta festival, but we were too tired at 10 pm after just finishing a great dinner at Paz19 by Sensi tapas bar in Barri Gotic.

We heard a couple of early booms around 10 pm, which stopped.  Suddenly, at 10:20 the real fireworks started.  We could watch them in-between the apartment buildings on the view down to the Sea.  What luck we had!  We didn't even have to go anywhere, we just opened the windows and enjoyed the show.
