Wandering Through Rothenburg

After walking the wall, we wandered back up Spitalgasse, stopping in a church that we had to ourselves.  While it started as a Catholic church, it has been Lutheran for a number of centuries, so it is not very ornate.  We had the place to ourselves, and yet we had our masks on.  Weird behavior by us.  Hopefully no one caught COVID from us, even though we don't have it, and no one was in the church.  Follow all that?

Just below Siebersturm (Siebers Tower), which, from further up, is the lower tower in the classic Rothenburg split street photo was another cool half-timbered house.  So here it is for your enjoyment:

Sorry, but photos of these houses
never get old.  Hope you agree!

Then we cross under the Siebersturm up above the Plonlein house and took multiple photos of the spot.  Literally, a similar photo is caused me to put it on our Christmas markets trip itinerary, and boy are we glad we came to Rothenburg.

It's possible that the Sibersturm is on the left,
and is NOT the lower tower on the right.

We then hit St. John Church, and then went Christmas shopping in a number of shops, including one of the famed Kathe Wohlfahrt's shop in Rothenburg.  The two Kathe Wohlfahrt shops in Rothenburg are, individually, the most impressive Christmas shops we ever seen.  Together, they are as though Christmas threw up in a house.  Pictures in a following post.

We also walked through Die Waffenkammer, which, on Google, is listed as "cool store for medieval weapons, armor."  It sounds like a dream store for a dungeons and dragons junkie, but it was even cool to us.

Between walking the wall, and covering the lower part of the town, it was a pretty good morning.
