Photos From Riad Amirat Al Jamal

After lunch, we walked through the medina on a crazy route that we never would have been able to take ourselves.  Thank goodness Rachid knew exactly where he was taking us -- to meet Peggy, and show us the Riad (which means "a large traditional house built around a courtyard and often converted into a hotel." (Or bed and breakfast).

More on that in a post tomorrow or Saturday, but first some photos:

Peggy and an antique Berber water jug

A Broom

The pool in the Riad's courtyard.  Courtyards
in Morocco are a tad nicer than Courtyard by
Marriott in the States.  Don't you think?

A sitting room

Some Morocco art

Stunning colors on these curtains.

You would not throw this Berber throw pillow.

Cool Doors

Very cool elephant.

The Koutoubia from Peggy's roof.

Her other rooftop patio, across
the opening for the courtyard.

The flag of Morocco, featuring the symbol
for the five pillars of Islam, with the
Atlas Mountains in the background.

One of the two rooftop patios.

Peggy, Rachid, and Carol

The best guide in Morocco!

Carol said, "hey, take the picture of the minaret
through the chimney top." So I did and it worked.

A lounge, with the reading room behind it.

We walked back from the Koutoubia.

The annoying guy was annoying and
wouldn't move. Take pictures quickly!
Believe it or not, I found him annoying.

So I angled him out of the way.
