There's a lot of hills, stairs, and basic ups in Portugal. Lisbon is mostly hilly, Sintra is definitely hilly, Obidos is a hill, Coimbra is hilly, and even Evora is somewhat hilly.
So, according to Carol's Fitbit, here's the number of flights of stairs we climbed:

That totals 537 flights of stairs. Some were quite fancy, especially those in the palaces and cathedrals, and many were quite rough, especially the forts, city walls, and narrow streets.
