I know, this is a lot of photos for a house ("casa" is Spanish for house), but it's an amazing 16th century palace/house, and I easily could have used another ten photos from Casa de Pilatos.
Editor: Um, everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, knows "casa" is Spanish for "house." Especially given how smart your readership is. Writer: Nice job sucking up to my readers. I'll have to try that some time.
I never get tired of Spanish tiles.
Arched window surrounded
by Spanish tiles.
Coats of arms are always fascinating.
The plasterwork carvings are stunning.
This cool carving was just
randomly in with a bunch of
stones waiting to be worked
on. And that's no bull!
The garden of Casa de Pilatos
is absolutely beautiful.
Not a bad ceiling.
May the bird of paradise fly up your nose.
The many arches that surround the
central courtyard feature beautiful
mind-blowing plasterwork.
Plasterwork and tile together
in one photo. It's like what
Reese's did combining
peanut butter and chocolate.
I aspire to have a cascade of flowers
like this some day in the future.
If not a cascade of flowers,
how about a torrent?
I'm not sure what kind of animal
this column carving represents,
and I not sure I want to know.
