Sorry there are so many, but it was awesome.
Our first stop was a balcony
more than halfway up to the roof.
It's neat to be on the same
level as the second level
of stained glass windows.
A parakeet on the roof. Don't worry, I
was never going to take a picture
of the many pigeons. Parakeet yes,
pigeon no.
"The Flying Buttresses would
make a great name for a rock
band.
Pinnacles on the roof.
The Lion's Gate entrance to the Royal
Alcazar, from the roof. A different angle
on the crenelated wall and towers.
Rooftop selfie.
Rooftop/flying buttress/Giralda selfie.
Rooftop pinnacle selfie.
The Royal Chapel dome.
There weren't many people on
the tour because they limit
the number of tickets sold.
The Renaissance portion
of the brilliant Giralda.
Another view of the Royal Alcazar.
Back inside at the top. I've
never had a straight-on view
of a rose window before.
Shooting from one end of
the Cathedral to the other.
From the outside looking in at
the roof of the Royal Chapel.
Giralda from close-up
on the roof. The very
top is Renaissance, the
lower part of the photo
is Moorish minaret.
One of the minaret windows.
The Plaza Virgen de los Reyes.
This gargoyle has something
to say every time it rains.
The gateway to the
Patio de Banderas.
See the person with their
iPhone camera a little
below the bell? That was
us later, when we climbed
up the Giralda.
You know you are up there when you are
looking down at the flying buttresses.
Avenida de Constitution.
We went back inside one more time
on our way down from the roof.
Did I mention I like gargoyles?
Not sure what this building
is, but thought the arched
windows are quite beautiful.
