One of the spectacular ceilings
of the Palacios Nazaries.
This photo doesn't exactly go here, but
here it is. Alhambra at night from our
VRBO apartment. A stirring sight.
One of the many impressive rooms
in the Palacios Nazaries.
The famed Courtyard of the Lions, and
the slightly less famed Iron Tourists.
Views of the Alhambra gardens behind us.
Everything in the palace is stunning.
The photos don't do the intricacies
and precision of the work justice.
This gives you something
to reflect on.
Just one small part of a ceiling.
Now that's a door!
Now that's a wife!
The reflection is so beautiful.
Just some of the 124 perfectly balanced
columns in the Courtyard of the Lions.
And here's the 12 marble lions.
The effect is called a stalactite ceiling.
Dissembled by Christians after the
Reconquista to see how it worked,
it stopped working. Until fixed
in 2012.
Might be the only place in the
palace with stained glass.
Doorway fit for a queen.
One of the many courtyards.
