Pictures Of Merida's Stunning UNESCO World Heritage Site

There won't be many captions on this post, mostly because the photos speak for themselves.  The first batch below are selfies, and then the pictures after that are with my normal travel camera.

The Peristyle.  And me.

The Peristyle.  And us.

This is my favorite of all the views
of the Roman Theatre selfies.

View of the Peristyle to the theatre.
A peristyle is a row of columns
(a colonnade) that can delineate a
courtyard or garden.  Don't worry,
I had to look it up, even though I've
seen it used a lot.

A road.  Ergo a Roman road.

In case you needed to see
more Roman mosaics.

Even the remains are grand.

The signs at the bottom are not original.
Plus they probably had arms.

Carol looking thru the
tunnel leading to the stands.
Note the columns.

This gives an idea why I think the
Theatre is a grand sight.

Two grand sights!

Remember, every time you
see the head of a Roman
statue in a museum, it could
belong on top of this neck.

A beautiful marble column.
