Photos From Chateau D'Issan Property and Wine Tasting

Ugh -- the photos are flipped again.  The last ones are first, and the first ones are last.  Oh well, they are still for your enjoyment.

On the right is the wine tasting room.
On the left is an outbuilding and a
turret.  Further below you'll see the
moat that surrounds the chateau.

Part of the barrel room.

When we're in this room, I always make
it a point to say "tanks a lot!" to the
tour guide.  (Editor: Every time, Glen,
every time!)

D'Issan is one of three moated
chateaus in either Margaux or
in all of Bordeaux, although
I have no idea which fact
is correct.

Amazing ceiling in the tasting room.

Don picking out a barrel to take home.
I'll be bringing an empty glass to his
house later tonight.

Just a portion of the chateau house.

Like we all have, here's statues of a Lion
and a Gryffin.  Unlike us, they have a
matching set on the other side of the
driveway.

(Little known fact: There is a secret
tunnel from the house to the Gryffin
statue.  To get to the tunnel, you
need to take the Gryffindor!)

for telling a dad joke, so nothing you
can say will shame me for the
Harry Potter joke.)

The entrance to the house.

Q: So which is cooler, having a
regular size turret, or a
mini-turret?
A: Yes.

The house from the back.

Our guide from D'Issan, Don, Lisa,
Jamie, Carol, Scott, and Cosmin,
our guide and driver for the tour.
