We stopped for a brief time in the small Icelandic town of Eyrarbakki. (Editor’s Note: Of course it is “Icelandic” – you are in Iceland for crying out loud! Blogger: Crickets chirping.)
Giorgio was quite enthusiastic about the town. There are not many towns in Iceland, and this was definitely one of them. It was a former port, hard by the Atlantic, with a cute old church and a gas station. It boasts a population of just over 500 people. Tourists rarely make their way to Eyrarbakki, and, other than seeing a typical small town, there’s not much reason to.
Carol and I walked to the church, but it was locked. After a quick break at the gas station/store, the bus hit the road to Reykjavik.
