Aye Aye dropped us off for lunch at Padonmar Restaurant around 1 pm. The restaurant offered both Myanmar and Thai dishes. The menu was a mile long and the food was plentiful. We sat outside on a pretty lawn under an umbrella.
The heat and humidity were killing us -- even though we have not had much of a winter in Virginia, going from 40 degrees to high 80s with high humidity whilst overtired had an impact. I'm pretty sure we gulped down three large bottles of water, along with a Coke Zero for Carol.
The food helped wake us back up, and we were taken to the hotel to check in. The Belmond's Governor Residence is located in the diplomatic section, and is quite the nice oasis. Aye Aye gave us 20 minutes to check-in and freshen up before zipping us off again!
