After the cooking demonstration/Glen fail, we popped back into the boats and cruised a short distance to a lotus weaving workshop. The factories are built right on the water for ease of transport.
By the way, when I write "factories" don't think of a factory per se. Instead, picture some small, rickety wooden buildings with looms, spinners, and places for people to work. Dyes are in very small buckets, and people are working hard, grinding it out. After getting a tour, including having one of the weavers place a piece of the lotus on our wrists like a bracelet.
After that, we went to the gift shop, where Carol picked up some gifts. After that, we returned to the hotel and hung out for the afternoon.
