Xiling Gorge

After getting back from the dam, the ship set sail, and after 45 minutes underway, we passed through the Xiling Gorge, the first of the three gorges the Three Gorges Dam is named for.

The gorge is quite beautiful, with soaring peaks on both sides of the river.  Even with the higher water level because of the dam, the gorge towers high above the river.

Container ship -- the dam has made the

river much better for commerce. And,

capitalism has made China much better too!
