The title of this post is from a John Fogerty song. Since he is one of the greatest
singer/songwriter/musicians the USA has ever produced, there’s no reason not to
quote him.
(Editor’s note: Going for the
double whammy eh. First the obscure
Fogerty lyric and then the ol’ double negative!
Blogger: Guilty as charged.)
We had to get from Beijing to Xi’an somehow, and a
high-speed train was the way to go. The
distance is approximately 1,083 kilometers (671 miles). We made it in five hours, and that was with
eight (quick) stops on the route.
It was a pleasant journey.
I blogged a bunch and read a little.
Having woken up at 3:00 am and unable to go back to sleep, I figured I would
nap some, but Carol handled that for me.
A highlight was when Andrew gave a brief presentation on the
most famous painting in Chinese history, one he likened to the fame of the Mona
Lisa.
Not much more to report, so on to the next post.
Welcome to the Xi'an Train Station
It was pretty crowded!
A beautiful flower basket with the
train station behind it. (Um, no
the flowers are not real. Why?)
