The Falafel Was Far From Awful

Osama took us to a famous falafel restaurant in the city centre of Amman.  It's where the Jordanian Royal Family goes to get falafel and hobnob with the hoi polloi.  It would be considered a dive restaurant here in the States, which means, of course, that it was awesome.

It's the famous Hashem Restaurant, getting 4.5 stars on TripAdvisor.  They cover your table with plastic, and bring out pitas, tomatoes, pickles, onions, mint (for tea), hummus, and moutabel.

It is said that every Ammani has had at least one meal at Hashem.  And now we have too.  Go for the food, stay for the atmosphere.  It is inexpensive and delicious.  It's a beehive of activity.

It's the best falafel I've ever had and is definitely my favorite vegetarian restaurant I've been to in the world (it might by the only vegetarian restaurant I've been to, sorry Jeff).

The falafel isn't awful (it's definitely not, but I just like saying it because I say "awful" in a way that rhymes with "falafel."  Try it, "falafel isn't awful" sounds and feels fun coming out of your mouth!).

It's a must go-to if you are in Amman.
